KRC Genk forward Tolu Arokodare was honored by the Belgian club after reaching the remarkable milestone of 100 appearances—a testament to his consistency, growth, and impact since joining the side.

The celebration was fittingly marked by a standout performance from the Nigerian striker, who scored a goal and registered an assist in Genk’s commanding 2-0 win over Anderlecht at the Cegeka Arena. The victory also secured a historic ninth consecutive home win for the club—its longest-ever home winning streak.
“We are making history today with our ninth home win in a row. I am happy to be part of Genk history,” Arokodare said, reflecting on the memorable night.
Beyond team success, Arokodare achieved another personal milestone by surpassing the legendary Stephen Keshi’s goal tally in the Belgian Pro League. With 25 goals, he now ranks among the top ten Nigerian scorers in the league’s history.
Genk’s head coach, Thorsten Fink, praised the forward’s development: “Tolu is a top striker. He is fast, strong in the air, left and right-footed, and he scores. What more could you want as a coach? Moreover, he now also carries out his defensive duties, which he didn’t do before.”
Despite reported interest from clubs including Fulham and Trabzonspor, Genk remains firm on retaining the services of their star forward. Club officials reiterated that Arokodare is crucial to their championship aspirations this season.
