Tojemarine Ends Kano Pillars Winning Run On Day 5 Of Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 Phase 1

Tojemarine Academy continued their superlative performance in the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 as they ended over two years winning streak of defending champion Kano Pillars on day 5 of the phase 1 of the league, Thursday, in Benin City, Edo State.

The Lagos based team now lead the men category league table with 15 points after they defeated Kano Pillars 23-19 in a surprising manner no one expected. Pillars are fourth on the table with 12 points.

In other results in the men category, Seasider Boys made it a double victory for Lagos teams as they earned a determined 21-20 victory over Niger United while De Defenders got a last gap 22-21 victory over Benue Buffaloes.

Confluence Stars defeated Police Machine 33-29 while Safety Shooters, who are now second on the league table with 14 points, comfortably defeated Bendel Dynamos 36-25.

Rima Strikers earned a comfortable 33-24 over Correction Boys.

In the women category, defending champion Safety Babes had a scare but eventually pulled through to defeat Plateau Peacocks 28-27. They lead the women category league table with 15 points; same point with Rima Strikers who defeated Delta Force 31-28. Rima Strikers are second because of less goals than Safety Babes.

Bayelsa Queens haven’t won any match in the league so far after they lost to Seasider Babes of Lagos 26-25 while Bendel Dynamos earned a 30-27 victory over Benue Queens.

Defender Babes defeated Imo Grasshoppers 27-22 and they are third on the log with 13 points.
