Last night herald an event to behold at the World Championships as the women’s 100mH heat up the track with a fine performance from Nigeria’s champion, Tobi Amusan in the Diamond League.
Fresh from her 12.54s CR at the National trials in Benin City, Tobi raced against the Olympic 100m hurdles champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn who took the first position ahead of the Nigerian with a dip at the end, and the current World Champion, Nia Ali finished third, as they prepare for the World Championships in August.
Puerto-Rican Jasmine took the win with 12.46s, making it her third Diamond League win, while Tobi finished second in 12.50s and Nia finished third in 12.53s.
All athletes will be set to meet again at the Commonwealth Games and the World Athletics Championships in a few months’ time.
