Commonwealth gold medalist and newly ratified 100m hurdles record holder, Tobi Amusan is elated over invitation to speak at the United Nations Global Impact Forum tagged ‘Unstoppable Africa’ following a medal laden year for the Nigerian athlete.
Just recently, the World Athletics ratified the Women’s world 100m hurdles record set by Tobi Amusan at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon, United States.
She spoke of the privilege, “still in awe; I was indeed elated to have been selected to speak at United Nations Global Impact Forum tagged ‘Unstoppable Africa”.

The African champion who was conferred with the OON (order of the Niger) honour by president Muhammadu Buhari became the first Nigerian world champion in an athletics event when she won the 2022 World Championships 100 m hurdles gold medalsetting the current world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal.
It was followed up by a wind-assisted 12.06 s in the final to take a gold.
She won back to back Commonwealth and African titles in 2018 and 2022 in the 100m hurdles and is also a two-time African Games champion in the event.
