Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) vice-president, Kwashi Thompson has predicted that the country’s senior national team have a bright future ahead of them, considering the level of talents being churned out regularly across the nation.
Speaking against the backdrop of top action at the just concluded National Handball League in Lagos, Thomson told sports247.ng that he was impressed with what he saw from all the competing teams.
He went on to declare that his optimism has been increased to a higher level that the future is bright for Nigeria’s senior handball team.
Thomson said: “The future of Nigerian handball has been boosted with the return of the National Handball League.
“It gave us the chance to see many of the players that had not been opportune to play actively in the past.
“This will eventually lead us to introduce new players to the national team, after a woeful outing in the Handball Nations Cup early this year.
“I am sure that the quality of competition and various activities in the league will help revamp the Nigerian national handball team.”
