Nigeria is a country blessed with a lot of talents. Little wonder we hold the record of the FIFA under 17, winning it five times.The team is the most successful in international football for their age group winning a record, five FIFA U-17 World Cup titiles and are runners up on three different occasions.
They are also two-time Africa U-17 Cup of Nations champions. Nigerian goalkeeper Dele Alampasu is one of the numerous players that have pass through the under 17 cadre to rise to where they are today.
But for most Nigerian age grade footballers, after their triumph, are no we’re to be found for a very long time. While some are never heard of anymore in the world of football. Dele Alampasu is one of the players who we still hear of but for long now just a little has been heard of him. He now play in the Latvian topflight division. Before then, he has had a loan spell in at Cesarense , a Portuguese football club based in Cesar.

Dele Alampasu joined Latvian topflight division club , Ventspils in February 2020. Alampasu signed a three- year deal with the club after he was released by Portuguese club, Feirense . He becomes the second Nigerian at the club after Abdullahi Alfa .
“It ’ s time to start another adventure and I ’ m happy to have joined Ventspils , ” the 23 – year – old said after joining the side. “I ’ m happy with the move and I can ’ t wait to make my first appearance for the club.
“Here , I have been assured a chance to play top flight football.”
Alampasu , who joined Feirense in 2016 , made only two appearances for the club as a third choice goalie.
The 2013 U – 17 World Cup Golden Gloves winner was on loan to Cesarense in the Portuguese lower division last season and believes his time at the club helped build his mental strength.
He may not have been there yet but certainly he is climbing up the lather of success. In his recent post on his instagram page, Dele Alampasu wrote “we may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated”
