The Anambra FA Chairman Gen. Chikelue Iloenyosi was yesterday at the popular Oriental Hotel Lagos recognized as the FA Chairman of the year in Africa by the prestigious African Illustrious Award for his giant strides in grassroot football development in Anambra state.
The ceremony which had captains of industries and respected Nigerians from all walks of life were rewarded for their meritorious achievements. The General who had in his entourage Prince Chuma Ubah and his wife, Sylvanus Okpala MON, Raph Chidozie George, Ibeh Johnson, Churchill Oliseh, Amechi Nwakaeze, Myckie Chukwuebuka and other well wishers.
The capacity Chairman of Anambra State Football Association who just did 100 days in office three days described the moment as reward for his sporting sacrifice and excellence in Anambra.
“First I want to commend the organizers of this wonderful award ceremony. It was really a top event, I want to also appreciate them for finding me worthy of this special recognition. It means a lot to me. At the same time, this will spur me on to keep up with my football development program. And tomorrow we will be playing the finals of the Chairman’s Cup, my pet project. So I am happy to receive this award as I dedicate it to all Ex-footballers who lost their lives. Thanks to the organizers once more.”
The Award ceremony saw the Minister of Youth and Sports Development Chief Sunday Dare, former Prime Minister of Eswatini Absalom Dlamini, IMC Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye, Economics guru Nkechi Nneka Obi, renowned FIFA agent Churchill Oliseh among others were recognized for their outstanding achievements in their respective industries.
