The second edition of the Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament would see thirteen female football teams in Nigeria battle for a chance to win the prize money available in the competition Sports247 reports.
The competition proudly hosted by the wife of the Edo State Governor, Mrs Betsy Obaseki, has seen an increase in participating teams from twelve to thirteen with teams selected from different states across the country.
According to Mrs Betsy Obaseki, the winner of the tournament will receive five million naira cash prize, the 1st runner up receives three million naira and the 2nd runner up goes home with 1.5 million naira with consolation prizes going to all other participating teams.
The thirteen teams participating in the tournament include Edo Queens, Fortress Ladies and Bravehearts Ladies of Edo State, FC Robo and Royaltoms International FC of Lagos State, Nasarawa Amazons, Royal Queens FC, Naija Ratels of Abuja, Sunshine Queens of Ondo, Delta Queens, Osun Babes, Heartland Queens of Owerri and Confluence Queens.
The tournament will start on the 8th of September, 2022 with the opening ceremony at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Edo State, by 4pm and the opening match to follow thereafter.
