Ahead of their World Cup qualifying match against Rwanda, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi confirmed that the Super Eagles will fly straight to Kigali to maximize preparation time.
Speaking in a recent interview, he explained, “It is true that they will fly straight to Kigali to kickstart the two matches we have this month. The reason behind it is to maximize time because time is of essence. When they fly directly, we’re actually making the most of every minute.”

Dr. Sanusi addressed concerns about the opposition potentially spying on their training sessions. “We have met Rwanda twice and know each other well. The new coach, Eric Chelle, has already met the players technically several times. You don’t need to see someone physically to interact; he has had discussions with them about his game plan, so there is no cause for alarm.”
The direct flight strategy aims to give the team a head start in their training camp, ensuring they are fully prepared for the familiar challenge in Kigali. With a solid game plan already in place and previous meetings with Rwanda, the NFF remains confident that the Super Eagles are ready to perform at their best.
