By Okechukwu Emmanuel
The African Knockout show continues to light up its sparks as Emmanuel defeated Jude Okechi in a match up in the competition.
Emmanuel, whose Elder brother, Daniel Okechi watched from the stands as he saw his younger brother being humbled and beaten by the imperious Emmanuel who went on to win the fight by Knockout, thereby making the Okechi brothers (Jude and Daniel) both lose their fights.
In an interview with the host of the show, Okey Bakassi as well as Sports 247, the impressive Emmanuel boosted after his victory over Okechi saying that, he knows what he has in his legs and that not too many people could stand his kicks for long.
“I know what I have in my own legs, its not too many people that can stand my kicks for long, No, its not too many people, because I have the thunder in my legs”.
Emmanuel, popularly known as the Fearless Dragon, exploited Jude Okechi’s weakness by constantly kicking his weak legs and finally won the match by technical Knockout.
After the fight against the Fearless Dragon Emmanuel, Jude Okechi while speaking with the host (Okey Bakassi) and Sports 247 was asked the reason behind his tears after the defeat, he said that he had never tend to give up in his life, even in his school, or anywhere, he would always give his all and that was the reason behind his tears after the disappointing loss to his opponent.
“I have never tend to give up in my life, even in school or road, I always give my fierce time, that’s why after the fight, I was crying. I was not crying about the losing, I was crying about the give up”.
Both brothers (Daniel and Jude) will now compete for the lucky losers, fighting each other to see who emerges victorious.
Earlier on before the fight, the fighters had a visit from the 43rd Miss Nigeria, Beauty Tukura, who admitted that her favourite Fighter is Segun, saying that she loves the way he speaks and how he remained focused.
“My Favourite is Segun, I love how he speaks and he is very focused, he looks good too”.
The fighters as well had an interesting beach date with the ring girls (Damilola Bolarinde, Rhoda Osadebe, etc) as well to make their day a fabulous one.
The African Knockout show stands out from other MMA shows because its a mixture of both Mixed Martial Art and Reality Tv. This was portrayed when Ndidi, one of the fighters was captured pecking one of the ring girls, saying that his wife, who is also a Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) and a fighter too understands his actions.
He said “My Wife will understand at home, I am only playing here, it’s nothing serious”, he laughed off.
After having a fun time, Ndidi proved a point, when he defeated Jude Ezugwu in a fight by a technical knockout, ending Jude’s ambition to become the African Knockout Champion.
The episode ended with an interesting twist as Dambe fighters from the northern part of Nigeria visited the AKO show.
The Dambe fighters donated charms to Jubril, A.K.A the black venom, prompting his team mates to be scared of him.
Jubril Inuwa-Baba is scheduled to have a match with Cornell Thompson. Who knows probably the charms the Dambe fighters gave Jubril might just work in his favour.
Before the show came to an end, the host asked some critical questions regarding Juju (Charms). Does Juju truly work in sports?, Do you guys believe in Juju?
Looking forward to hearing your opinion and answers on this critical question.
