With their away convincing victory against over old rival Stationery Stores of Lagos on Saturday, Shooting Stars extended their unbeaten run at the Nigeria National League 2020/2021 to four matches at the ongoing campaign.
Edith Agoye’s side have not been beaten both home and away since the management of the Nigeria National League put a stop to the 2019/2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic and since the start of the 2020/2021 season.
After retaining the champion of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s pre-season tournament at Ijebu-Ode, Shooting Stars have shown the world that their results at the grade A and B friendlies were no fluke.
The Oluyole Warriors have triumphed in 4 of 4 NNL fixtures (two from homes and another two on away ground).
The Ibadan soccer warlords have also kept a hugely impressive 3 clean sheets after stores’ victory but their inability to kill opponents in the early first half then conceded a goal against Go Round but later won 2-1.
This means Rasheed Balogun’s (Shooting Stars General Manager) side are the only team with double figures of points in the Southern Group B1 log without defeat or draw in the Nigerian National League.
With this victory, teaming fans and supporters of the Oluyole Warriors would have a rethink that their 2-1 home victory against Go Round which condemned their loving team preparation and team quality were nothing but mere scare.
Right now, shooting Stars forward Gafar Olafimihan had netted five goals. A hat-trick and brace against Rovers FC and Stores respectively.
