Remo Stars have enjoyed a blazing form this season in the Nigeria National League NNL. Surprisingly, the Shagamu outfit currently tops one of the tables of the NNL, group B2. Playing in the Ultra-modern Bet9ja Stadium in Ikenne, Remo Stars have also enjoyed tremendous home wins in recent times and a few away victories as well.
Speaking to sports247, is the Team Manager of Remo Stars, Samuel Yinka Ajayi as he x-rays the reason behind the fine form of Remo Stars so far this season.
When a team is doing well, there is always the belief that there is something or somebody behind the team. The 1:0 victory against Joy Cometh has triggered the eyes of many towards looking into the reason this team is doing so well that they top the league table of group B2 and Ajayi shared more light on the victory;
“The game was not bad but I think the fatigue of back-to-back matches weighs our boys down and I think that’s the reason they performed below fans’ expectations but I strongly believe that by the end of this season, NPFL here we come!
“The team is highly motivated. Our president always boosts the team morale by promising them rewards. We also don’t owe our players and I think that’s one of the motivating factors.
“The team also awards player of the match and player of the month to well-deserved players. This goes a long way in making them give their 100% performance. To top it all up, there is also a reward for winning a game and for goals scored. We normally give money and other things out”
Remo Stars comfortably sits on the log with 15 points, having won 5 of their 7 matches and losing two in the process with no draw game. Remo has scored ten goals and conceding 5 leaving them with the second-best in terms of goal difference.
