In what has the first Lagos Derby in the Nigeria Women’s Football League current season, FC Robo romped to a 5-0 win over city rivals Dreamstar Ladies in a very entertaining game, and coach of FC Robo, Osahon Orobosa hinted Sports247 that the players who returned from Turkey might have had little impact in the result.
“I’m highly impressed today. We had a lot of chances but we were able to convert five and it’s good,” he said. “Somehow,” he said after being asked if the presence of the Falcons stars helped his team’s performance. “It’s not like those players scored like two or three goals. It’s just like that and anybody can score in FC Robo,” coach Osahon added.
FC Robo, ‘the Lagos Landladies’ as they love to be called had the duo of Captain Gift Monday and Habeebat Akinwande invited to the National team and both played very crucial parts in the game with Gift scoring a goal and mesmerizing the defence of her opponents all game long.
The coach of the side also hinted that there’s no need to rush and start talking about the title after the win as it should be step by step. “When we get to that bridge, we’ll cross it,” were the closing remarks of a very delighted and excited man.
