The second season of The Creative Champions Cup kicked off on Sunday, 28th November 2021 with games across multiple venues and one of the only two sides to pick up a victory was Valiant FC.
In a game that was already decided by halftime with the scores at 2-1 in favor of “the brave boys” saw coach Fawehinmi Olanrewaju attach the team’s victory to the attitude of the boys despite late rousing pressure from opponents Dino SC.
“It’s all down to the player’s attitude. The right attitude was in the players. If we can’t score in the second half, then we should not allow them to and we kept our discipline,” Olanrewaju told Sports247 after the game.
Asked about the resilience of the defense and it being the stronghold of the team, he said, “actually it’s not the defense, it’s the entire team as a whole. So the result came and we share the joy together.”
Moving forward in games to come the coach chose not to rest on his oars and has said there is much room for improvement in all aspects of the team and they will work on it.
