Last week’s matches
Community Gunners FC vs Africano FC – 4-0
The designated home team was highly motivated: 3 points would guarantee them a spot in the Wild Card round, and a victory by 5 or more goals would put the 1xCup 2024 runners-up in 1st place. CGFC were leading 3-0 by the 14th minute and scored their fourth goal early in the second half. But Africano recovered from the shock, managed to fend off their opponents’ final assault and delighted Nath Boys FA, who ultimately got a ticket to the quarter-finals.

Emaljus FC vs Young Strikers FA – 1-1
The participants in this game had lost their chances of finishing first in Group B, and a draw would send both teams to the Wild Card round. By the middle of the first half, the score was 1-1, which remained unchanged until the final whistle. Emaljus FC and Young Strikers FA tried to snatch victory, but both teams knew that defeat would mean elimination from the tournament.
FC Bethel Sporting vs Vinmo Energy FC – 1-1
Neither team could fall below 3rd place. Only the designated visitors had a chance of winning Group D, but they were unable to beat the reigning 1xCup champions. What’s more, it was Vinmo Energy who had to equalize in the match they desperately needed to win.
This match concluded the group stage and determined the first four participants in the quarter-finals: Nath Boys FA, Ikorodu City FA, ISAGT, and Inspire Sport Academy. None of the top four teams in the 1xCup 2024 managed to win their group.
