“The preparation for the Africa Games is ongoing,” stated Saidu-Baba. “Twenty-four athletes have been called to camp and are training seriously for a podium performance.
Sixteen athletes will be finally selected to represent the country in both kyorugi and poomsei events.”
Saidu-Baba emphasized the federation’s strategy to capitalize on Nigeria’s strengths in both Poomsei and Kyorugi, despite the dominance of North African countries in the sport.
He expressed confidence in Nigeria’s ability to surpass its previous performance and secure more gold medals at the All-African Games.
“The other prospects of our athletes at the Games are very bright,” Saidu-Baba added. “As such, we hope to exceed our previous performance of three to four gold medals in the All-African Games.”
With a focused training regimen and a determined team of athletes, Saidu-Baba believes that Nigeria has the potential to make a significant impact at the African Games.
The federation is committed to supporting its athletes and maximizing their chances of success on the continental stage.
