Former Al Hilal Omdurman striker Abednego Tetteh has advised Asante Kotoko to be positive in their play ahead of their crucial CAF Confederation Cup Group C tie against Sudan’s Al Hilal .
This comes after Asante Kotoko were drawn together with Sudanese Al Hilal Omdurman and Zambian duo Zesco United and Nkana FC in Group C of the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup .
The Porcupine Warriors qualified for the Group stage for the first time in 11 years on Sunday after eliminating Cameroonian side Coton Sport 5-3 on aggregate.
The lanky forward, therefore, believes the Sudanese side have what it takes to frustrate Asante Kotoko in both legs and advises Coach C.K Akonnor on what to do to stop The Blue Wave side.
“My prayers have been answered because I prayed Kotoko meets a team from Sudan for Ghanaians to know how competitive the Sudanese league is because I want Ghanaians to stop Criticising players who sometimes move to Sudan from Ghana”, he started in an exclusive interview with Ashh FM in Kumasi.
“Al Hilal is a very strong and experienced team in terms of playing in Africa because they always qualify to CAF inter-club Competitions”.
The former Bechem United star also warned the Porcupine Warriors against the vociferous supporters of Al Hilal when they travel to Sudan for the first leg tie.
“Most of their motivation and encouragement comes from the way their supporters fill their Stadium during matches and Kotoko should be ready for that”.
“Apart from their supporters, they have 6 players who are very experienced and have played in the CAF Champions league for 7 seasons and the most dangerous player in their team is their Captain”, he revealed.
However, Abednego Tetteh also advocates tactics to be deployed by Asante Kotoko technical team cautioning them against the frustrating players in the Al-Hilal set up.
“It will be very difficult for Kotoko to score them at their home grounds but if Kotoko wants to win in Sudan, they should play Maxwell Baako at #10 position and stop using him on the wings due to his skillful style of play because their defenders can’t handle a player like his type”.

“I will also advise Kotoko not to play defensive tactics when they go to Sudan else they (Kotoko) will concede more goals…..Kotoko should open up and play nice football and that will give them victory”..
“Kotoko Defenders should be careful of their Brazilian player because he likes diving and he always deceives referees”, he warned.
Kotoko will start the CAF Confederation Cup campaign with a trip to Sudanese to face Al Hilal on February 3, 2019.
