Team Delta has emerged victorious, winning the championship title in the 2024 Aba qualifiers and securing a spot in the Teqball World Championship in the United States of America.

In the male single final, Victor Oyemade defeated Khalid Akorede 2-1, while his teammate, Andrew Ikoko, lost 1-2 to Tobi of Abia state in the bronze medal match. In the male double category, Oyemade and Ikoko narrowly defeated Akorede and Funsho Samson (Nigeria’s number two ranked player) 2-1.
Marvel Dick, Chairman of the Delta State Teqball Association, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s qualification, stating that Nigeria will present a strong team that will compete favorably in the World Championship.
“No doubt it is not easy but we will continue to give a good fight to keep Nigeria flag high in the global stage”.
Victor Oyemade, who narrowly lost 1-2 to the world number one in the 2024 Hungary world championship, hopes to give the world champion a good fight in the upcoming tournament.
