“Tennis Sets My Heart Free”- Bose Adeniran Speaks at International Women’s Day Tournament

Bose Adeniran, a passionate tennis player, shared her excitement after finishing a game at the Amazons Tennis Tournament held on International Women’s Day.

“The game was fun. Because today is International Women’s Day, I’m so happy. As a tennis player, if I play tennis, even when I’m in a bad mood, I forget everything as soon as I step on the court. Tennis is a passion,” Adeniran told Sports247.

She added, “I love playing tennis. There’s nothing else I enjoy as much because it frees my heart. I don’t even think about anything else—when I’m on the court, my mind is just set on playing. If you don’t know how to play tennis, just learn it because it’s fun. When your fans cheer ‘go, go, go,’ it makes the game so enjoyable.”

Reflecting on the event, she noted, “This is my first outside tournament and the biggest one so far. The organizers really tried; the clothes they provided were impressive in both color and texture.”

Adeniran also recounted her tennis journey, “I started playing in 2021 at Cooperative Villa Tennis Club after noticing how well some ladies played. A friend told me I was wasting my talent by playing table tennis when I could excel in lawn tennis. Since then, I’ve been training continuously. I’ve won two trophies with my club and I believe one day I’ll be a winner.”

Looking ahead, Adeniran is optimistic: “Next year’s event will be even better. This is just the beginning. Every year, we do new things, and I’m sure next year will surpass this one.”
