Team Osun wrapped up an impressive 2025 season with a commanding performance at the National Para Swimming Championship in Lagos, securing four gold medals and one silver.
The team showcased their strength by sweeping five podium finishes, reaffirming their status as one of Nigeria’s leading para-swimming contingents.
Uvounah Friday led the charge with a gold medal in the 100m freestyle (men’s category), while Oweifa Samuel earned silver in the 100m backstroke, giving Osun a strong start in the competition.
The boys’ 4×100m medley relay team, featuring Uvounah Friday, Oweifa Samuel, Peter Abel, and Abejoye Adeleke Odunayo, delivered a dominant performance to claim gold.
Osun continued their golden streak in the 4×50m freestyle medley mixed relay, where Oweifa Samuel, Ijagbamigbe Gbemisola, Peter Abel, and Oriunu Sarah combined forces to secure first place with exceptional teamwork and determination.
