Chidozie Nwabueze has shared his post-match thoughts about the 2023 Love Cup, an All-Star League match where his team faced Reality Pro and made a remarkable comeback from being 2 goals down to end the game in a 2-2 draw.
“I was a little bit demoralized, but as an ex-footballer, I knew that in football, anything can happen, so we continued to encourage ourselves, and it ended 2-2. That’s football for you. You don’t rule it out until the 90th minute. It is well. We look forward to the next game,” Chidozie stated during an interview with Sports 247.
When asked about the target he has set for his team this year, he responded, “Last year, I was in the finals of it all. I have been in the final more than three or four times, and this year, I am looking forward to the Lush team getting to the finals.”
He also had some words for people interested in the All-Stars competition, saying, “It is a very competitive one. Every new year, it becomes better and more competitive. Last year was very tough. You can see the tempo and intensity. It is going to end better than last season. We are all looking forward to a better tournament. The organization is fantastic. The referees and officials are all doing well, so it’s a good one.”
