Team Lagos, always a feared team as far as football is concerned in the National Sports Festival in Nigeria and that hasn’t changed one bit even though the team couldn’t win the NSF 2020.
Yusuf Adesina who coached the lads to the games and has been the coach since 2017 expressed his joy as to how many of the players who passed through the team are now doing well in clubs in Nigeria and Europe.
“The festival team is a good platform for Lagos state players to excel because they’re playing a national competition. I can boldly say that when I took over in 2017, they have been doing well till date as we have many players in Nigeria and Europe,” coach Adesina said.
The players were always scouted from various academies in Lagos state and brought together to produce a formidable team. Some of the players to have passed through Team Lagos include Akin Amoo and Olatomi Olaniyan in Hannerby, Sweden, Liamid Quadri of Villarreal Spain, Eze in Ukraine, Tijani Samson and Ali Musa Wale in Austria, Saviour, Utaki, Wisdom Ubani, and many others who are billed to represent the nation at the U17 and U20 level.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity and any time, any day, I’ll make sure I make Lagos State proud and give my best to the nation as well,” coach Adesina concluded.
