This is the verdict of Coach Olajide Akinyelu, one of the organizers of Creative Champions League (CCL), which Beyond Limit has won for four years running.
The club, which is officially the junior team of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) outfit, Remo Stars of Ikenne, are competing in this year’s edition of the highly-glamorous TCC League and have already emerged champions again.
Akinyelu told Sports 247 that seeing Beyond Limit claim four straight titles of the competition and gunning for a fifth does not undermine the quality of the contest or demean all other teams.
In contrast with speculation about possible low quality of TCC League, Akinyelu stressed that Beyond Limit has everything going for them in terms of facilities, structures, welfare, coaching and quality of players.
He added: “There is no problem in that Beyond Limit won four straight editions of the competition.
Have you been to their facilities? It’s the best in the whole of Nigeria. It’s one that competes with facilities even in Europe.
“You can’t have that type of structure and not turn out good football. We have to give kudos to the coach. He’s one of the best in Nigeria.
“Aside from that, they have the facilities, they have the structure, they have everything backing them to succeed.
“So, we won’t say because they won the first four editions of TCC League that the league is fake.
No! If you look at the teams in the league, when they go outside to play other tournaments, you see how well they perform.
“For Beyond Limit winning four editions, they actually deserve it. They are that good. We have to give it to them.”
He then went on to reveal some of the success secrets of the competition, stressing that the organizers owe a lot of gratitude to their sponsors.
“We must thank our sponsors, Bet 9ja specifically. They’ve been with us since the second edition. Our sponsors, generally; they’ve been backing us financially.
“Yes, we are not there yet. It can always get better. But, we are a bit organized. You can see what we are doing.
“We know more people will definitely come on board to support our project,” concluded Akinyelu, who is also the coach of Gbagada FC of Lagos.
