He commended the new board of the Lagos FA for introducing this pre-season initiative, describing it as a significant development for football in the state.
“I am very happy for this kind of development that Lagos FA has introduced. The pre-season games allow us to assess and rate our players before the official league season. It’s a very positive development, and I’ve seen excellent character from all the participating teams, especially during the knockout stages. It’s been very impressive. Kudos to the new board of the Lagos State Football Association,” Ademola stated in an exclusive interview with Sports 247.
Reflecting on their match against Ikorodu City, which ended 1-0, Ademola emphasized that in football, there are victories and defeats. He expressed gratitude for their consistent performance throughout the tournament, highlighting that both TCCG and Ikorodu City displayed the qualities needed to compete in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
Ademola praised the initiative for bringing the glamour of Nigerian football back to Lagos State, adding that all the games in the tournament exhibited excellent character.
When asked if his players met expectations, he replied affirmatively, noting that their performance was commendable despite limited training sessions due to an extended break.
He recognized the tournament as an opportunity to identify areas for improvement and strategic corrections to enhance the team’s readiness for the upcoming league season. Ademola concluded by expressing his gratitude to the Lagos FA for organizing the pre-season tournament, which provided valuable insights into the team’s progress.
