The Creative Championship season is back and getting set to kick-off as the league sees some teams leave and new teams emerge, however, the league Director still believes the best talents are embodied in the league clubs.
Starting with an 8 club league last season, despite the promotion of Ijebu United to the NNL, the league body has incorporated three new partner clubs who have met the requirements and will be participating in the league this season.
“We’re excited that the TCC 2nd season is just around the corner. We started with 8 teams but we all know Ijebu United have been promoted to the NNL and won’t take part in this season,” said one of the League Directors, Akinyelu Olajide to Sports247.
“We have brought on board 3 new partner members, Dannaz FC Lagos, Broad City Lagos, and Atlantic Business FC, Epe who would be playing their home games in Ijebu Ode. This season will have a 10 team league, with more games in the system with loads of interesting games to watch in Lagos and Ogun state even as the TCC Cup is still in the offing,” he added.
Mr. Akinyelu also expressed his assuredness that the best young players in the country can be found in the TCC as the league has an average player age of 23 and they want more players to participate.
“In terms of players, each team will be able to register up to 40 players as it’s about showcasing these players on a good platform and so we want more players to participate in our league and cup games. The average age of players in the TCC is between 15 and 23 so if you’re looking for the best legs in the country within that age bracket then you know where to come to,” he concluded.
He also encouraged fans to be prepared for an exciting season that will see games in Ijebu Ode stadium, Remo Stadium, and also across centers in Lagos.
