TCC2022: Even In Defeat, We Have To Look At The Positives, Beyond Limits Coach Olumide Ajibolade Salutes Players Efforts Following Loss Against Atlantic Business FC

Beyond Limits Coach, Olumide Ajibolade has said that there are a lot of positives to take from his side narrow defeat to Atlantic Business Football Club with a 2-1 scoreline while also saluting the efforts of the boys but admits he isn’t happy with the defeat.

The defending champions who started the season on high with a 3-0 victory against Iganmu Tigers lost thier second game against Atlantic Business FC who respectively won thier first game as they suffered thier first loss of the season to thier title defence, Sports247.ng writes.

Reacting to the defeat in his post match pressers, the coach stated, “it’s not too good but we have to look at the positives in the defeat, I will keep the doors open to setback, challenges that the game presented to them, were they resilient enough, elastic and flexible tactically, did they push themselves really well?”

“In this case, I’d say yes, the condition, the pitch and thier adaptation, overall we are pleased with thier effort but not happy with the defeat.”

Responding to his early changes in both half, Olumide justified his decision saying, “football is very dynamic, you know sometimes the goalkeeper makes mistake and the direction of the game changes from nothing.”

“We were top of the game in the beginning of the second half, we made changes and exploiting spaces, creating chances and the keeper drops the ball for the opponent, these are things that happen,” he further clarified.

‘I’m sure that he’s somewhere in the bus now crying his eyes out, we need to get him out of that mood because you know it’s football, we need to build his confidence back up.”

“No excuse for the loss despite the early kick-off, I’m not for that, part of our job is to be able to adapt to different stimulus. We will look at areas where we need to work on ahead of next game,” he concluded.
