It was a groundbreaking victory for the away side on Sunday evening at the legacy pitch Surulere stadium as Gbagada FC hosted imperial city in the ongoing creative championship match week 5.
As usual, the fans of both sides came out in masses to cheer and support their club side.
The Imperial City was in a close look as a surprising goal struck the goal post seeing the ball inside the net in the 18th minutes of play at the first half giving them a one-nil victory.
38th minutes later a second airdropping goal saw the ball inside the net by Ezekiel Samuel giving the Adedeji boys a two-nil lead in the first half.
In the second-half kickoff, both sides were caught heating each other hard as the fans of the away side were seen jubilating and cheering their club side.
Bilyaminu Abdulahi at 73rd minutes gave a clinical finish that sealed the scoreline giving his team a three-nil total lead against Gbagada FC.
In an interview with Coach Adedeji Ayeoba he said;
” I have seen a lot of impressive Performance from the boys, tactically we came to the game with a good plan, and at least for us to conceive a goal in the first 17 minutes is quite wonderful.”
” We also controlled the game out of possession and in possession and we were able to score two goals in the first half of the game. Adedeji added”
” Coming back into the second half, we were able to control the game, so far so good I will say it was an impressive performance for us. Also winning against Gbagada in their home ground is not an easy task. He concluded.”
Statistically from the log table, Imperial City now has nine points and is in the second position on the log table.
