Imperial FC picked up a 2-1 win over Gbagada FC in The Creative Championship League, which was their first in this 2021 edition of the TCC League after seven matchdays without a win.
“It’s a happy moment for us and I think this will boost our morale to move forward for sure,” said Coach Abdulfatai Abdulwahab. “Now you can see we’re doing different things and we’re getting different results…you can see the fight, we start with the fight and we finished with it,” he added.
After several games without any win in the league, the coach added that it took some motivation to get the boys to up their game this week. “Don’t let our past affect our future. Here at Imperial, winning is not so much important, but the development of you guys,” said Coach of Imperial FC.
Imperial came into the game on the back of a 7-1 loss to Dino SC in Matchday seven but still sits bottom of the log with 5 points from 8 games with goalkeeper Lamidi Yusuf picking up the Man of the Match award with a fine display against Gbagada FC.
