Broad City FC manager Christian Isikwene is upbeat about his side’s chances of qualifying for the next round of the Creative Championship Cup despite a 4-3 defeat to Imperial FC on Wednesday.
The defeat means Broad City needs a win in their final group game against Gbagada FC and Isikwene has already shifted his focus to Friday’s all-important encounter.
“The loss (against Imperial FC) is not heavy on me because we still have a game to play against Gbagada,” Isikwene told Sports247 post-match.
“We missed a lot of chances today but we’ll learn from this. We still have three more days to prepare for the last game and I’m sure we will come out strong in the next game.”
Asked about what went wrong for his side, Isikwene said: “In the first half we lost concentration in the middle, that’s why we conceded three early goals. I needed to make some changes and it affected the game. But the lack of concentration in the early minutes cost us. I’m fully confident we are going to qualify for the next round.”
