Call it progress and Akande Fatai, Coach of Dannaz FC will agree with you as his side raced to a 3-1 win over Valiant FC in the last game of the TCC Cup although it wasn’t enough to get them through to the semi-final.
Dannaz FC have previously failed to win any of their first three group games, picking only a single point out of nine but the win today excites their coach even though he cringes at the lack of a clean sheet which was as a result of a very late 90mins consolation goal for the opponents.
“It’s good to win, I feel good and it’s positive. It’s a developmental process like I’ve always said so this is good for the boys’ mentality. However, the only thing I’m not too happy with is not keeping the clean sheet because that is also important but at least we were able to take a step forward and hopefully we can build on it,” coach Fatai told Sports247.
Speaking on the tactical approach to the game after the previous disappointments, he said, “football comes with a different approach in different games at different moments. Now we have a very good idea of our team and our opponents. We have been able to score in every game and that’s a huge positive. For the players, they will see the progression they have made and determine how they want to build on it,” he concluded.
