It’s been a long run of games cutting through weeks and months and with the league and cup now coming to an end, it was time to reward standout players of the season and Lukman Ibrahim of Valiant FC was one player who walked away with lots of the awards.
The player took home the golden boot award for the top scorer of the league with 18 goals, 3 short of his personal target, the golden ball award for the player of the season and also making it to the best XI of the season in what was a very happy day for the chap.
“I’m very happy, I feel good and I’ll also like to say I worked hard for it,” Lukman said in an interview with Sports247 after the award ceremony. “It was not easy but I put a lot of effort into scoring in training and also in friendly matches which made scoring in the TCC easier for me,” he added as he explained how he felt bagging those awards.
“My motive is to play in Europe, that’s what I hope and pray for. I’ll also like to serve my country,” Lukman said. “Expect more of this, more goals for this team and I’ll do better,” he said as regards the league next season if he’s still in the club.
The striker attributed his performance to hard work and explains that’s his only secret even as he believes his team has a chance to win the TCC League next season.
“I’ll like to say thank you for their support, I’m grateful and I really appreciate,” he said as he appreciated his coaches, the club management, and the fans.
