A win in the opening fixture to get the first three points and place them solely at the top of the TCC Cup Group A table for Broad City after a 2-1 win over Iganmu FC.
Iganmu FC with a very porous defense through the competition last season conceded the highest number of goals (five) in the cup and started this season in a similar fashion, letting the ball into the net twice in the second half after taking the lead in the first half.
Broad City however came out better in the second half and got the win as coach of the side Christian Ikechukwu Isiekwene shared his thoughts on the game with Sports247 after the match, explaining how he always believed in the lads all through.
“When we were 1-0 down in the first half, I never lost belief in the boys to be able to get the win because our tactical approach to the game and all our plans were being done rightly by the boys but they were shaky with their finishing touches,” Ikechukwu said.
“After the first half, I spoke to the boys to calm down in the final third, that we would score and win the match and that’s what they went on to do,” stated a very proud coach.
