It was all down to Matchday four, the last matchday in The Creative Championship Cup 21/22 season to decide the semi-finalist in both groups, and with Broad City’s 2-2 draw with Gbagada FC and Imperial FC getting a win elsewhere, Broadcity failed to make it past the group which leaves the coach speechless.
Broadcity had to fight back twice to level matters in the game to steal a point and that displeased the coach, leaving him with disappointment.
“It was good to score goals, I don’t even know what to say because at this juncture I’m tired,” coach Christian Ikechukwu told Sports247.
“My players tried but I hate that we always have to concede first before the players react and then try to score and make a comeback. I’m tired of it. We have no choice anyway, as a coach, we’ll return and try to correct our mistakes,” he added.
Broadcity finished third in Group A with 7 points, behind first-place Imperial FC and Gbagada FC next with 9 and 8 points respectively and as such, both progressed to the semi-final of the cup that is billed to hold around May 2022.
