The Swedish Gotland men division witnessed a major home defeat on Malmö city FC even with the services of Tayo Saliu junior , last season’s 10 goals hero.
Smarting from an away victory in their last match against Hogaborgs BK , Malmö city went into the game full of confidence to defeat FBk Balkam.
Tayo who is yet to score this season registered his name in the scorer’s sheet with a 17 min header that beat the opposing goal keeper flatly.
Balkam equalised in the early minutes of the second half but it was short lived as Tayo Saliu junior with a thunderous volley made sure it was 2 goals apiece.
FBK Balkam intensified their efforts as they desperately wanted Malmö city to taste the bitter pill of a home defeat.
Malmö city could not withstand the pressure and caved in to let in 2 goals in the last 8 minutes of the match. It ended 2 goals to 4 to the excitement of the visiting away team.
” I had the feeling I would score not just one but two goals but unfortunately we lost.
We could not hold on for an extra 10 mins.
We move on for better result” Tayo told tobexSports immediately after the match.
Balkam had defeated Malmö city with the same scoreline last season. Malmö city desperately needs a win in their next game to make play off.
