Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Nigeria’s premier university of education, is celebrating its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of dedication to academic excellence and teacher development since its establishment in 2005.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wole Banjo, highlighted the university’s history and significant achievements over the years. He noted that TASUED has introduced seven new academic programs designed to address both global and local educational needs. Additionally, the institution has hosted 28 inaugural lectures across various disciplines, with 22 of them delivered during his tenure.

Professor Banjo also emphasized the strong collaboration between the university and its alumni. He commended the TASUED Alumni Association for its generous donation of furniture worth N39 million to equip a 2,000-capacity lecture theatre, further enhancing the institution’s learning environment.
As part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations, TASUED has lined up a series of events aimed at reflecting on its journey, celebrating its accomplishments, and setting future goals. The commemoration will bring together students, staff, alumni, and key stakeholders to honor this milestone.
