Lagos State Sports Commission executive chairman, Dr Kweku Tandoh has stated delight with results that are beginning to show from renewed sports initiatives in the state.
Speaking against a fair outing by The Centre of Excellence at the 19th National Sports Festival in Abuja, told sports247.ng he is very happy that the attention given sports in the state is beginning to yield results.
He pointed out that the spread of medals won by Lagos State athletes at Abuja 2018 is an indication that Nigeria’s former capital is giving attention to all sports, not just one.
Tandoh added: “Unlike Delta State that won most of their gold medals in the swimming events alone, that of Lagos was cut across all events.
“It’s because we have an all-inclusive attention to all sports events, not just one and that policy must continue.
“We will continue taking the right steps and doing the right things, in order to further develop all sports evenly in the state.”
