Super Eagles international, Taiwo Awoniyi is yet to get over the euphoric feeling following his record goal for Nottingham Forest to snatch all three points against West Ham.
Awoniyi joined the newly promoted championship side and two times UCL winner on a club record fee from Union Berlin this summer as Steve Cooper’s side look to seal thier permanent EPL status.
Making his full debut after been named on the bench in thier opening defeat and first game of the season against Newcastle United, Cooper started his new man and his faith was rewarded with the striker grabbing the only goal and winner few minutes before the end of the first half to seal all the points for Forest.
Awoniyi’s goal was the first for Nottingham Forest since 1999 in EPL, he became the first man to score that record goal.
He took to his social media handle to share his excitement in a post which read; “What an honor it was to open my premier league scoring account in a historical moment for this great club!.”
“Amazing spirit from the boys backed by the best fans! Glory to God and we go again! “🚀🙏🏾
