“T.B Joshua Made Me Who I Am Today” – Champions League Player Says

The Lagos-based football club, My People FC played a novelty football match on Tuesday at the Agege Stadium in honor of their late chairman pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua.

The game against St Thomas FC, filled with emotions, ended in a 2-2 draw.

Among the guests’ players of My People FC was Ekwem Princewill who started his career with the Nigerian National League side. Princewill currently plies his trade in the Benin Premier League for ESAE FC.

In the event, Princewill spoke to Sports247, saying:

“I was brought to my People FC when I thought the hope of football was over for me. My People FC called me, I started with them from amateur one to pro one.

“After then I move back to my country Benin Republic where I play for ESAE FC. We played in the CAF Confederations Cup last season. This season we won the Benin league. We will be representing the Benin Republic in the champions league in the 2021-22 season.”

Amongst it all, Princewill gave a hearty tribute to the late pastor T.B Joshua, founder of My People FC.

“I am proud to call him my father. He blessed a lot of people. He gives you when you need it the most. For all, he has done for me and all the people at My People FC that is the reason why we are gathered here.

“We are all grateful for all he did for us that is why we come here to celebrate his legacy. He made us who we are today. From grass to grace.

“The game we played I scored two goals. I dedicate both goals to him. Wherever he is right now, I know he would be proud of us and the football team he created.” Princewill concluded.
