The Executive Chairman of Surulere local government, Hon. Tajudeen Ajide Yusuf has lend financial assistance to former Nigeria international footballer, Charles Bassey, MON,who is reportedly battling with life threatening stroke.
Bassey who was a member of the 1980 African Nations Cup winning squad has been sick for a period before his health situation was made public on T&T Network, a WhatsApp platform anchored by former Nigeria international defender and captain of defunct Abiola Babes, Hon. Tajudeen Disu.
While announcing the donation of one hundred thousand naira to Charles Bassey, on behalf of the council boss, Disu, who is the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture, youths and sports in Surulere local government, said the gesture is synonymous with the philanthropic nature of Hon. Ajide, who was also a former footballer and a renowned financier and promoter of grassroots football.
