SUPREMACY CUP 2024: Seamoriow Chairman Oluwaseyi Amos Hails Hajji Gafar For Organising Excellent, Impressive Competition

The chairman of Seamoriow Sports Limited, Oluwaseyi Amos has showered accolades on Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) chairman, Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed for packaging another ‘excellent’ talent hunt competition.

Speaking to sports247.ng against the backdrop of the final of this year’s Lagos Supremacy Cup at Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Amos added that the competition was impressive and beautiful.

The youthful football developer and promoter, whose remarkable project is based at Islamic Pitch, along Abaronje Road in Ikotun area of Lagos, added: “This competition has been excellent and impressive.

“This is the first time I’m witnessing the Supremacy Cup but, to be candid, Alhaji has put in so much to make this competition beautiful.

“We’ve seen beautiful football artistry from most of the players and the teams.
“They have all displayed good football and great skills. I am highly impressed by what I’ve seen.

“You can always wish that this should come up maybe three times in a year, not just annually.”

He then spoke specifically about his team’s performance in the four-day contest at The Waterfront, and blamed their inability to convert chances for their failure to reach Saturday’s final.
“Dominance in football is a function of possession; but it’s not enough if you can’t convert your chances.

“That was what ruined our opportunity of playing in the final.

“If we had won our matches, by converting our chances, we should even be talking about taking the cup home.

“But, unfortunately, our chances that were not converted ruined us. We saw good football from the boys, but they were unable to convert their chances,” Amos admitted.

He, however, concluded by picking some positives from the highly popular ‘football scouting competition,’ as he tagged it another very useful learning platform for his players.

“Overall, we’ve been able to learn more about the game. Football is continuing, and we are improving.

“We learnt to step up our tactics and improve on the overall performance of the boys.

“Now, they’ve seen that football is more than just training.

“You have to win trophies; and that is the next target of what we want to do,” Oluwaseyi Amos affirmed.
