The endorsement of Edo State as host of the 2020 National Sports Festival by the Federal Ministry of Sports has continued to receive plaudits from stakeholders in the sports community.
In a statement released by the Nigeria Football Supporters Club and signed by its National Chairman, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, congratulates Edo State government for getting the hosting rights for the nation’s foremost sports festival.
” The NFSC is glad that Edo state was given the hosting rights for the 2020 national sports festival. The recent rebirth of sports in Edo state by the government of Governor Godwin Obaseki and his sports loving deputy, Comrade Phillips Shuaibu is a testimony to the plans of the government to take youth empowerment through sports to desired heights,” it stated.
Continuing, Ikpea reaffirmed the commitment of the supporters club to the growth of Nigerian sports. Adding that the NFSC is mapping out plans to partner with the Edo state government to make the sporting event, a huge success.
