“Let’s give huge credit to the technical side, the manager. They’ve proven everyone, including myself, wrong. They’ve come out now with the intent of how to win a game.

Technically, right now, I think we’re sound. We know what we’re doing. But going to the next game now, we have to understand a real fan or player would not underrate any country in this, especially in this AFCON.

We’ve seen so many surprises. So South Africa, to be honest with you, I think they’re a very good side. So we should turn up right.”

Expressing gratitude to the Super Eagles and the technical team for instilling hope and excitement among fans, Sodje emphasized the need for the team to maintain a proactive mindset and strive for victory from the outset.

He encouraged the players to avoid allowing the game to go into penalties and to instead focus on securing a win against South Africa.

“We want to say thank you to the Super Eagles and the technical side for giving us hope. And I think for the first time, we are looking forward to watch the Super Eagles play.

I hope we know that we should go with an intent to beat South Africa because I think they will come into the game sitting back and waiting for the game to go into penalties.

We don’t want that. I think we’ve got the players to go out there and beat them. That is what we’re going to do.”

Sodje expressed confidence in the team’s technical abilities and urged them to seize the opportunity to make the nation proud.

He concluded by wishing the Super Eagles good luck and urging them to approach the game with determination and a winning mentality
