Nasarawa State Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima, has conveyed his congratulations to Nigeria for their well-deserved victory over Cote d’Ivoire in the ongoing AFCON tournament.
Galadima, a respected football administrator, expressed confidence in the team’s abilities and commended their resilience in securing the crucial win.
Speaking after the game in Abidjan, Galadima said, “I want to use this medium to first congratulate the players, Technical Crew, and the entire country for the victory over Cote d’Ivoire at their backyard.”
He acknowledged the determination and zeal displayed by the players, affirming that the win was thoroughly deserved.
Galadima, known for rallying support around the team, stated, “It was never in doubt that we will get the maximum points as the boys showed zeal, resilience, and determination to come out victorious as it was a well-deserved victory.”
His unwavering confidence in the team’s potential echoed the sentiments of many Nigerian football enthusiasts.
Setting sights on the next challenge, Galadima outlined the team’s objective: “What is left for us is to beat Guinea Bissau on Monday and top the group, he concluded.”
This statement reflects the Chairman’s optimism and belief in Nigeria’s ability to maintain momentum in the tournament.
After Nigeria’s initial draw with Equatorial Guinea, Salisu Galadima had been among the few who publicly supported the team, expressing confidence that they would progress from the group.
The team’s subsequent triumph over Cote d’Ivoire, with William Troost-Ekong securing the victory from the penalty spot, validated the Chairman’s earlier belief.
With the upcoming match against Guinea Bissau, regarded as the perceived underdogs of the group, Nigeria has an opportunity to secure its position at the top.
As the tournament unfolds, Salisu Galadima’s encouragement and optimism continue to resonate within the football community.
