#SupereaglesAFCON – Garba Lawal Calls For Calm Amidst Super Eagles’ Draw, Emphasizes Importance Of Next Game

Former Super Eagles International Urges Fans to Remain Patient, Highlights Significance of the Clash Against Ivory Coast

Former Super Eagles international, Garba Lawal, has appealed for calm among football enthusiasts in Nigeria following the team’s drawn match against Equatorial Guinea in the ongoing AFCON 2024.

Lawal emphasized that tournaments are not decided by a single game and underscored the necessity for the Super Eagles to focus on the upcoming challenge of defeating the Ivory Coast.

Lawal stated, “This tournament now, every game we take it as it is. I believe this game is going to be very, very important too.

At least we have got a point which is good for us. What about the new game? We keep up with the players, and I believe they can deliver. Depends on the confidence they have.”

Acknowledging the significance of securing a point in the first match, Lawal highlighted the need for the team to maintain confidence and shift focus to the upcoming fixture against Ivory Coast.

He recognized the difficulty of winning on the host country’s ground but encouraged the players to stay resilient.

“At least we thank God we did not lose the game. So at least we have another chance. We have another game, which is coming up with the host country.

It’s not gonna be easy, but anyway. Winning the Ivorians on their ground, it’s going to be more difficult. But our boys have to head up.

They need to come back and win the second game, which is very key. I believe it’s very important,” Lawal emphasized.

Garba Lawal’s words serve as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of tournament football and the importance of a collective and resilient approach as the Super Eagles prepare to face Ivory Coast in a crucial encounter.
