Former Super Eagles international Edema Fuludu has issued a cautionary note to the Nigerian national team, stressing the need for an improved performance when facing the indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the upcoming knockout stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite Cameroon’s current struggles, Fuludu emphasized that the Super Eagles cannot afford to underestimate their West African rivals.

He pointed out that the knockout stage, coupled with the historical rivalry between Nigeria and Cameroon, demands a higher level of play from the Super Eagles.
“Cameroon is struggling. If we are going to play Cameroon, it does not mean that we are going to walk Cameroon over. It’s not going to be a soft game for us, especially as it is a knockout game. Cameroon will rise and say, ‘We have played the Super Eagles, and these are people that we normally hit very hard.’ So we have to rise to the occasion,” Fuludu remarked.
Concerned about the team’s recent sluggish and slow-paced performances, Fuludu urged the Super Eagles to elevate their game and avoid depending on free-scoring opportunities.
Acknowledging that the knockout stage requires a different level of intensity, he emphasized the importance of hard work to secure a positive outcome against Cameroon.
As the anticipation builds for the clash between Nigeria and Cameroon, fans and pundits alike will be keen to see how the Super Eagles respond to Fuludu’s call for an improved and more dynamic performance.
