The executives of the Superbikes Clubs Association of Nigeria (SCAN), led by President Hussaini Misari, paid a courtesy call on Mrs Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism, at her office in Abuja ahead its annual convention.

According to a statement signed by SCAN president Hussaini Misari, the purpose of the visit was to inform the Minister about the upcoming SCAN annual convention, “The Gathering,” which will be held in Abuja from November 1st to 4th, 2024.
“The SCAN President complimented the Minister and thanked her for the opportunity to confer with her and to seek her collaboration being that Tourism is the major focus of “The Gathering” event.
The event will highlight Nigeria’s rich culture through a food market, a medical charity in which the group will donate 100 wheelchairs to people with disabilities and two ambulances to wounded Nigerian Army soldiers, as well as provide free medical examinations and treatment.
“The program will also include the Abuja City Marathon to promote awareness about sickle cell disease, and will conclude with a Culture Costumed Gala & Award Night.
“The Minister expressed her excitement and encouraged Superbikes Clubs Association of Nigeria to continue promoting Nigerian tourism.
“She also expressed the Ministry’s commitment to making the 2024 Superbikes Clubs Association of Nigeria National Convention a success.
The event aimed at promoting the potential of Tourism and culture in Nigeria later this year will attract over 1000 bikers across Africa and Europe,” Misari said.
Meanwhile, chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr Ibitayo Taiwo, during his remarks revealed that over 1,000 bikers from 25 countries across Africa and Europe are expected to grace the event which will showcase culture, tourism and entertainment.
He also assured the Minister of the firm support of the biking community in collaborating with the Ministry to continually promote Tourism in Nigeria.
In her closing remarks, the Minister, Mrs Lola Ade-John, expressed her excitement on the initiative and promised to use the event to promote Nigeria’s rich cultural potential.
