Slavia Prague forward Peter Olayinka expressed his satisfaction after playing an important role in Saturday’s crucial 3-1 victory over Karvina.
Olayinka came off the bench for Milan Skoda in the 73rd minute and made an instant impact two minutes later. He netted the third goal for his side in the Czech Republic 1. Liga match at the Mestsky stadion, Karvina.
The Nigerian’s determination in the final third enabled Slavia Prague to earn the points that tipped the balance of an otherwise evenly-matched contest.
“My goal changed the game. It was a tough contest, especially in the first half because we didn’t manage to play our usual game,” the striker told Sports247.ng.
“We got better and recorded a crucial victory. The league is still a marathon we are very determined to win it at the end of the season.’
“There are still many more games left and we want to finish the championship season on a high.
“For me it would be amazing to win the league title, it would be my first on my debut season in Czech Republic and something that’s very important to me.”
