A player in Nigeria’s beach soccer national team, Super Sand Eagles, Suleiman Ogodo has promised that he and his colleagues will work hard to do well at this month’s continental showpiece in Cairo, Egypt.
Heading into their opening match of the 2018 African Beach Soccer Cup of Nations, Ogodo told sports247.ng that the team will do their utmost to reach the final and pick a Beach Soccer World Cup ticket.
Ogodo assured that all the players will be at their very best to achieve the task of picking one of two available African tickets for the 2019 FIFA competition in Paraguay.
Ogodo admitted the Eagles have a touch opening match against the defending champions, Senegal, but reminded anyone who cares to listen that Nigeria were also runners-up in 2016 runners-up.
“We, the players of Super Sand Eagles, will try to edge Senegal in the first match we will play in Egypt.
“We want to make it to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup next year in Paraguay; that’s we all have to work hard and put in very best here.”
