Super Sand Eagles coach, Audu Adamu (Ejo) has expressed confidence in the ability of his players to rise up to the occasion at the 2018 African Beach Soccer Cup of Nations in Cairo, Egypt, where he says their target is to return with the trophy.
While acknowledging that they also have their eyes on picking a ticket to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, sports247.ng reports that ‘Ejo’ says they will try to start the contest on a good note against Senegal.
The team, which only had three days of intensive preparations for the competition, will face Senegal, Libya and Tanzania on December 8, 9 and 10 in that order in Group B, but ‘Ejo’ said they will try their best.
He also expressed confidence that the players selected will do Nigeria proud in Egypt and grab one of the two tickets to the World Cup slated for Paraguay in November next year.
“We are without Joshua Enahoro who got injured in one of our training sessions, but our effort to replace him has been unsuccessful.
“We are with 11 players including one out and out goalkeeper; but we have Emmanuel Ojukwu Titus who is a player and can also deputise as a goalkeeper. We are good to go,” the beach soccer coach submitted.
