A player in Nigeria’s beach soccer national team, Super Sand Eagles, Suleiman Ogodo has tasked Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to roll out support and adequate packages to help the squad at the continental showpiece in Cairo, Egypt.
Ahead of Saturday’s kick-off at the 2018 African Beach Soccer Cup of Nations, Ogodo charged the NFF to remember the national team and support them in the area of welfare and emoluments.
Ogodo said in a down-to-earth chat with sports247.ng that only proper attention from the NFF would boost the team’s morale and spur the players to go beyond the best of their abilities.
He noted further that they need to hit the ground running, after late commencing of camping, but says their mood has been dampened by lack of trappings that are usually associated with national teams.
Ogodo said: “The NFF should try to let us have a full sense of belonging by providing us with adequate support for the competition in Egypt.
“We resumed camp and we don’t have any sign that we are a national team. We need the latest national team house wears, training kits and jerseys, as well as camp allowances and other benefits.”
